In 2012, Walter celebrated his 42nd year in the FBO industry, and he brings a wealth of knowledge and diverse experience to the team.
Like many, he started as a Line Service Technician as a small airport in South Texas, later to become the General Manager of Qualitron Aero from the late ‘70s until 1990. Qualitron was Houston’s premiere corporate aircraft service center at the Houston Intercontinental Airport. Walter spent several years as a regional sales manager for Exxon Aviation and later as the V.P. of Sales for Hammonds Technical, the industry’s leading manufacturer and supplier of fueling equipment and supplies.
From 2002 to 2012, Chartrand served as Training Manager for AirBP Aviation Services (now known as EPIC Aviation), one of the industry’s leading fuel suppliers. Walter is He is the industry’s leading expert on fueling, fire safety, fueling equipment and facilities, and leadership training. Over the years, he has been a frequent presenter of the National Air Transportation Association’s Line Service Supervisory Training Seminar, as well as the National Air Transportation Association’s Safety 1st Trainer Instructor.
In late 2012, he and partners DeborahAnn Cavalcante and David M. Ware successfully launched the Aviation Training Academy, a new on-line marketplace which offers a wide range of training alternatives for line service, 14 CFR 139.321 supervisory certification, self-fueling operations, and FBO management/customer service personnel.
He is an accomplished multi-engine, instrument/commercial rated pilot with over 2,500 hours.
